I'm a Computer Science graduate from the University of Iowa (2022 graduate), professional Ruby on Rails dev, candle maker, and semi professional weirdo. I try to learn something new, and make something ridiculous, every day.
These days I mostly work in Ruby, but I got my start back in 2013 making games in C and Python. Since then I've picked up a grab bag of languages including LUA, C#, Go, JavaScript, Java, and even COBOL (because why not?)
I've won multiple awards for my work including at hackathons during my time at UIowa. One of my favorite projects was Mental Metrics, a web app that uses machine learning and outside factors like weather to help predict mood patterns.
I'm a Ruby on Rails core engineer at a billion dollar company, mostly focused on optimization, building and improving features, and other fun stuff. I'm currently learning Go, mastering Rails, and eating gems.
In my spare time I help organize, run, and judge the Retro Gadget Game Jam. It's a LUA based contest where participants create games and gadgets from the ground up based on a theme.
